The forever long christmas tag

1.Wrapping paper or gift bags? For Christmas....wrapping paper.
2. Real tree or artificial? Real, with Devon being in landscaping we will NEVER have a fake tree. It's like forbidden to even mention such "nonsense"
3. When do you put up the tree? Usually the Monday after thanksgiving
.4. When do you take the tree down? When we get back from traveling over the holidays
5. Do you like eggnog? YES
6. Favorite gift received ? I have a few, I remember LOVING when I got Rollerblades. Then one year from Santa I got my first pair of Levi 501's. and last year Devon got me a nice coat...it was more of the surprise of him getting me something that I liked and didn't know about than the actual coat, but I do like the coat too.
7. Do you have a Nativity scene? Yes, even though my son won't stop touching them
8. Hardest person to buy for? It use to be for my dad but now I have it fairly easy. I don't really have anyone that's hard to buy for
.9. Easiest person to buy for? Dito...myself lol, but really, everyone is fairly easy. It's easy to find things that they want and that will make them happy. The trick is planning our finances well enough that I can afford it.
10. Worst Christmas gift you ever received?Um, I'd rather not say....but honestly I'm still a little bitter about it.
11. Mail or e-mail Christmas cards. Mail.
12. Favorite Christmas Movie? Muppet Christmas carol is a family tradition. Other than that I'm not sure what my favorite would be, but Four Christmases - that was funny
13. When do you start shopping for Christmas? If I see something that I know they will like, and it's after their birthday, then I buy it for Christmas. The rest of the stuff I get after thanksgiving
15. Favorite thing to eat at Christmas? I love it all! My favorite are the appetizers though, spinach artichoke dip, shrimp, yummy salty fatty stuff. YUM
16 Clear lights or colored on the tree? So, we do both....is that tacky?
17. Favorite Christmas song? Um, I like "Baby it's Cold Outside", "Green Sleves", and usually anything from Mannheim Steamrollers (I'm sure I am spelling that wrong)
18 Travel at Christmas or stay home? Travel, although last year we stayed home until the day after Christmas and I LOVED it. We will plan on doing that most years from now on (except this year)
19. Can you name all of Santa's reindeer? Dasher, Dancer, Prancer, Vixen, Comet, Cupid, Donner and Blitzen Rudolph and Olive (LOL.... get it...."all of the other reindeer/ olive the other reindeer...lol oh I crack myself up)
20. Angel on the tree top or a star? Star
21. Open the presents Christmas Eve or morning? Christmas Eve {new PJ's} and the rest on Christmas.
22. Most annoying thing about this time of year? The people ringing the bells for salvation army in front of the stores.....we know they are there, do they really get more people to donate to them if they ring the annoying bells????!!!!
23. Favorite Christmas tradition? Hmmm, at my parent’s house? The Christmas Eve production and I LOVE caroling. In our home we are just starting traditions so I'm not sure yet.
24. Up early or sleeping in? Our kids are small enough that they still sleep in, but I am sure that will change....but we will most likely do it later in the morning even when they are bigger. They will get to open there Santa stuff but nothing else until we eat a big hearty WILSON breakfast. 25. Who hands out the gifts? Dad
26. Does Santa wrap your gifts? Were still debating if "Santa" has time to wrap gifts. We -cough- i mean Santa defiantly wraps the stocking stuffers at our house....but the big gifts are still up for debate.
27. Do you tell the Christmas story? Yes
28. Do you leave cookies for Santa? We did when we were little but not now because our kids, once again, aren't old enough to care
29. Are your stocking presents wrapped? yes
30. Do you go caroling? yes

Doctors

This morning Kate had a doctor's appointment. For the most part she is doing well. She is 6 months old, weighs 16 lbs and is 26 inches long. That makes her 50% for height and weight and under 50% for her head size. As some of you know Kate has had some trouble with a clogged tear duct. It's not that big of a deal, and most kids grow out of it by 9-10 months, but if not they have to go in and open the duct....but there is a Dr. in the next town over that is doing a study on clogged ducts - so my doctor recommended me to her so that we can help her with her study, then if we need anything done with her eye in the future it will pretty much be free because it goes under "research" for this doctor and so we won't have to pay for anything. Also, we've noticed lately that Kate kind of has a saggy head...LOL...she tends to favor her right side and although she has free range of motion in her neck and doesn't resist looking the other direction, when she is totally relaxed and just hanging out...it is obvious that it sags. Anyway, so we also got recommended to go to a physical therapist. The doctor said that most of the time the babies adjust themselves but if we wanted to take her we could. If we do anything it wont be until after we get back from California for Christmas, until then we'll just see how well she does. That's about it, she's growing well and for the most party healthy and happy.

Also, one of Devon's best friends, Tim, is getting married in Idaho Falls this weekend and after debating and discussing what was going to happen Devon is taking Austin with him to I.F. and Kate is staying here with me....I'm so excited! And the best part is that Devon is excited too, he loves taking Austin on little adventures with him. It will be good daddy bonding time. :)

Birthday

Our little boy turned 2 the monday before Thanksgiving and I have been so busy since then that I haven't be able to post any pictures or anything! We were planning on having a birthday party for him in Idaho Falls with some of his cousins, but ended up not being able to leave when we thought, so we decided to stay home, go out for a birthday dinner and celebrate at home instead. That morning for breakfast I took him to the Merc. for donuts and juice. Then we went to visit a friend who's little boy turned 2 a few days before. When we left there she gave Austin a HUGE cup cake with frosting and sprinkles. When we got home I sang him Happy Birthday and then let him go to town on it. For dinner we went to Red Robin, a family favorite of ours. He had the yummy clam chowder and slurped up every last bite. After dinner was over they came out and sang to him bringing along baloons and a yummy ice cream sunday. He LOVED it. He thought it was soo cool. There was another birthday that night and they went to sing to them first, which was excellent becasue it got Austin's attention and he was standing on the seat trying to see who was making all the noise, then they finally came over and were all singing and clapping to him and he was just in little boy heaven. After that we came home and opened presents and sang, then he went to bed tired, full, and happy. It wasn't the best birthday ever, but it was good one. He knew it was a special day, and had a lot of fun.

Have you ever seen a happier birthday boy?
