Yes, it's 5:00 in the morning and why, you ask, am I blogging? That would be because I have now been up for 45 min and have so many thoughts running through my head I think it just may as well explode. Austin decided that he would get up at 4:15 to see if he could get up and play...fat chance. I think he woke me up because he was a little disgruntled that he couldn't get his arms out of his blanket. For those of you who don't know we swaddle him up fairly tight when he sleeps, we have done it ever since he was a month old. Now that he is growing he can usually break his arms free at night for whatever reasons and when I get him in the mornings there usually no sign that a swaddle ever existed. I guess last night I wrapped him up extra good, not tight, I just wrapped him a little different and he couldn't figure out how to break his arms free. So he decided he wanted a little help. So I quickly got up and tried to find his gas medicine (that's why he usually gets up) and after 5 min in the dark couldn't find it anywhere then I went in to see him and he was wide awake. So I helped him break his arms free and then picked him up to make sure he was okay. He was really snugly but didn't want to be in his bed, so I thought maybe he will lay quietly in ours.....hahhaha, right. So after 5 min, and now me being awake a total of 20 min I just laid him back in his bed. I remembered that in Baby Wise (the book that I used to put him on his schedule) it said that around 5 months they will get up at like 5 in the morning and talk and play in their cribs for up to an hour, and then go back to bed. I think (since he did just turn 5 months this week) that is what it is. He wasn't fussy or crying just wanted to play but now for the past 45 min he has been sleeping and I am the one left wide eyed and bushy tailed. Alas, the joys of motherhood.
As for today, today is Devon and my 3 year anniversary. What are we doing for it you ask? Good question. This is the first year we will ever really be able to actually do something. Because we, like so many from BYU's, got married right after semester so we have always been packing or traveling on our anniversary and the day itself has kind of gotten looked over. Since BYU-I went to trimesters we were done early this year and so we have already done all the moving that we are going to do for a long time. So, what to do? I really don't have any idea. I would really like to get a babysitter for Austin but we just moved here and I don't know anyone well enough to ask. The only people I would ask are Matt and Meg but they are just pulling into town today and will be starting the long process of moving in. I really want to ask them but I feel bad. I am going to help them move in this afternoon and maybe I will feel things out. Other than my mom and sisters Matt and Meg are the only one's I ever had watch Austin so it would be great but who knows. It's not like we have any big plans and need to get a sitter. It would just be nice to do something. We are in a new place, close to so many things I am sure we could find something interesting to do.
Well, it is now 5:45 and I hear the shower running, so I think I will be nice and go start a big cowboy breakfast for my husband. What else is there to do?

Pack and Move
I am so sick of moving and dealing with all that goes with it I am not going to write a lot about it. I just want to say that it was crazy! Devon graduated on Saturday, Easter was Sunday, We packed and cleaned (with the amazing help of Devon's parents) Monday and Tuesday and then left Tuesday evening. We stopped Tuesday night in Provo area, Wednesday we drove to Vegas and then Thursday we finished our trip and got into our new apartment. Our apartments are wonderful, they are so clean and new. We have so much more space here than we have ever had. We love them and were more than pleased when we moved in. On Friday my Dad and sister Brieanne flew in and they helped us move all of our stuff in which was quite an accomplishment considering we live on the 3rd floor! (Thanks Dad we couldn't have done it without you!) and then they left Saturday afternoon, taking with them our Acura Integra which we had just sold to them and Devon will now be getting a motorcycle. (He is SO excited). On Monday Devon's mom came and helped me unpack while Devon started his new job. She left on Wednesday and the house is mostly done. I just have a few things left to do. Most of it is just decorating and figuring out where I want a few last items.
Devon is absolutely loving his job and the ward we moved into is great. We have been here a little more than a week and have already had the Bishopric over and the Relief Society. Devon has even already gone Home Teaching! We are so excited to be here and I am just starting to feel like I can stop and take a breath.
I just wanted to say Thank You again to Devon's parents and Dad and Brie for all of their help and sacrifice.

GRADUATION!!!!
I can't believe it is really here. I am so excited that Devon is graduating and that so many people want to share it with us. On Thursday night Devon's parents, sister Chelsea and her 7 month old son Seth flew into Idaho Falls. After going out to dinner with them we went back home while they settled in at the Roos' (in-laws). Friday afternoon they came up to Rexburg and we gave them a nice tour of the campus. Devon was able to show them where he worked and what he did. Devon was a great tour guide as he showed us around through the different gardens and green houses. It was a beautiful day and it was nice to have them there. Friday night we were going to have a Graduation dinner for Devon. Everyone was to meet at Texas Rhode House at 7:30. There turned out to be about 15 of us. G&G Martinez came up to see Devon graduate, his parents were there and we were joined by the rest of his sister family (Chelsea, John, Nathan, Sadie and Seth) Devon also had some cousins that lived in the area come over. It turned out to be really nice.
Saturday morning we were all up bright and early. Devon had to be at the school at 7:45 and Devon's mom and I tried to get there around 8:00. We only had two tickets to convocation so everyone else was going to meet at the house at 9:30 and come to commencement at 10:30.

California and the trip home
Austin and I had such a wonderful time in California. We were able to go to softball games and go shopping with the girls and just hang out with family. It was so nice. On the way home Austin was wonderful. He traveled really well and really is such a good little boy. I am glad that we are going to be able to stay close to family.
We flew into Salt Lake Tuesday night and G&G Martinez picked us up then on Wednesday morning/afternoon before I headed back to good ole' Rexburg I stopped in and visited with two of my old roommates Melina and Elena. It was so wonderful to be able to sit and talk with them. Nothing warms my heart more than inside jokes shared between old friends. I loved hearing about their exciting lives and the wonderful things that they were getting involved in. After meeting with them I really realized that the saying is true that Good friends are hard to find. I noticed on Lauren's Blog she was talking about how it took a while to get really comfortable with a friend and I agree. I really takes a lot to find someone that you can truly be yourself around, but when you do find them, they are priceless. That is how I feel about Melina and Elena, priceless friends. I truly enjoyed the few hours I was able to spend with them and it was even better that Austin was so well behaved.

Decision time
Oh, the crazy lives we lead.
About the middle of March I went to California to visit my family. On going out I was totally secure in the thought that we were going to move to Maryland at the end of the April. Not long after my arrival, I got a phone call from Devon informing me that he had just had another job offer from California. At the time I was totally thrown off guard. I knew that the job in Maryland was an amazing opportunity and I was confused about why Devon was still looking for other work. Well, I later found out that he didn’t go looking for this job. A friend of ours in the Horticulture department, who is also graduating, went and interviewed with this company in Moorpark, California called Malibu Canyon Landscape and Maintenance. He was soon offered a job and was asked if he knew of anyone else that was looking for a job and he recommend Devon. A few days later Devon received an offer from Malibu Canyon (just off of Matt’s recommendation! He hadn’t even talked to us yet). After Devon got the offer and talked with the owner, Brooke Bateman, he sent them his resume and a CD of his portfolio. Soon after Malibu received his stuff Devon was called again and was made an even better offer. Brooke told Devon that he thought that he would be a great fit in the company and really wanted Devon to come out and work for them. He was offered a position as a Design Project Manager (similar to the job that he was offered in Maryland) and offered a higher starting salary than the originally, the also told us that they would totally pay for us to move out. CRAZY!!! So we have had a hard time trying to decide which job would be best for us.
There were a lot of different aspects we had to compare. There was everything from type of company, size of company, knowledge he would gain on the job, what type of job it would lead into, we had the difference in church activity, safety of the community, cost of living, traffic/population, distance to family etc. etc.
After research, list making, analyzing, and debating we finally decided to take the job in California. The biggest aspect that it came down to was the fact that the job in California will give Devon a better rounded learning. In Maryland he would have been in the office designing most of the time. The only time he wouldn’t be in the office is when he would be selling. With the job in California Devon gets to design and sell, but then he also get to manage the project. He is in charge of hiring and firing people for his maintenance crew, he gets to go out to the sites and supervise the installation, and because of all this he gets to use his Spanish regularly which he loves! This will prove very useful if we later decide to start our own business. Another bonus was that Brooke Bateman (the owner) is LDS and so are several of the guys that work for him. That means it should be a good working environment.
So now that we have decided to take the California job, Brooke wants Devon to start April 16! Devon and I are both gone until April 4th and then on the 5th his family gets in and on the 7th he graduates. After all that we will have to pack up and move 14 hours away! Oh, this is going to be Crazy

It's been a while
I just wanted to apologize for not writing in so long. Things have been more than a little crazy and I really just haven't even been able to get on the computer, let alone spend an hour trying to hash out all the details so others could know about them. Thank you to everyone for your patience and for not giving up on me. I will try to break up what has happened in a couple of different blogs so that it is easier to read and access.
